Sugaring

Sugaring is a wonderful hair removal treatment that originated in Egypt and has been practiced for centuries throughout Northern Africa, Greece and the Middle East. Sugaring gel only contains natural products (sugar, water and citric acid) and pulls the hair out by the roots without sticking to your skin unlike traditional waxing products.

Benefits over waxing:

  • Sugaring only sticks to the hair and not to the skin therefore it really gets hair out by the roots and is much gentler & less painful than using traditional wax products.

  • It exfoliates the skin

  • Eliminates any risk of burns as the gel is applied lukewarm and your beautician applies it by hand. This is a key reason why sugaring is generally preferred over waxing, especially when it comes to removing hair from larger areas of skin.

  • After repeated applications, hair grows back noticeably thinner, more soft and fine. In some areas of skin, after time, it can even stop re-growing at all!

  • Suitable for people with eczema, psoriasis or varicose veins.

  • Simple and easy to clean up afterwards with just warm water.

  • Gel only contains sugar, water and citric acid (as a preservative). No petrochemicals or polymers.

Sugaring is suitable for removing fine hair all over the body (with the exception of eyebrows). Hair should ideally be at least 3mm (1/8”) long so that the gel is able to bind to the hair and pull it out by the root. However, it can be effective on hairs as short as 1.5mm (1/16”).
